So now that the collab itself is up ( [link] ), I think I can safely post this.

As some of you know, I wanted to draw Fan, but it was decided that only characters from games made by Capcom would be allowed (I still don't know why), and so I had to settle for Sheepman. Decided to go for a dynamic pose that stayed within the restraints the project heads specified.

Making this transparent (another requirement) was a bit annoying, as my copy of SAI doesn't have the option for it; I had to manually erase the white BG in Photoshop.

As annoyed as I was that Fan got rejected, Sheepy's fun to draw. :) Baaa.

Sheep Man made little sense to me, and I didn't like him that much because of that.
However your artwork of him is still pretty good, even though I don't like this Robot Master so much. He doesn't look as "fluffy" the way you drew him, but he looks a bit better that way to me. The excess fluffiness of his original design in the game actually made Sheep Man look fat to me and not as fluffed up, but in your way, he looks a bit better now.

It would've been bad to have sheepman pop up from the backseat with two other sheep? And suddenly spaz out like this?

Fan's not really a Mega Man character, seeing as he has no connection to Capcom. It makes him as much a Mega Man character as someone's fan character, which is what he basically is. You wouldn't consider Gwonam from the Zelda CDi game a Zelda character would you? Most people wouldn't, because he has no connection to Nintendo. So that's why Fan would be rejected.

As to Sheepie, well he's a sheep. Jumping, dancing, zapping. I can only say it's good, all I got.

"No connection"...except the Strategy developers got the license from Capcom. Licenses DO count for something, preferences aside.

So oes that mean the non-game characters from the RS Universe are Capcom characters too?

:icongeneral-radix:
Yeah; they're just not part of the game continuity (the licensed games are dubious, but still official).

Sweet. that Means Doris the maid and Bree Recottas are Capcom girls :D

No they're not. They're not owned by Capcom, so they're not Capcom girls. Licensed material is not canon towards the main series. And characters created by the companies who had the license aren't owned by the license owner at all, unless an agreement is made (like Kingdom Hearts; Sora is technically a Square-Enix character, but due to the nature of the partnership Disney has free access to him). Quake Woman, Doris, Fan, etc. are part of the Mega Man franchise, but not the Mega Man series. But at least Archie and RS set up their own continuities. Rockman Strategy's just a black sheep.

The one exception I know of to 'licensed material is not canon towards the main series' is the Legend of Zelda Oracle game, which were made by Capcom under license from Nintendo, but their agreement there was similar to Kingdom Hearts (but not the same).
